[reuteb's telegrams. 7 LONDON, February 2. The Irish Obstructionists.
In the House of Commons at 10 a.m. to-day, owing to the scandalous scenes which continued to occur in the House, the Speaker put a stop to the debate. A great disturbance thereupon ensued, and did not cease until the Irish members left the House in a body. There being still a quorum present, the Coercion Bill was then read a first time, and the second reading will be taken at noon today. Shipping. The steamship Norfolk left Plymonth yesterday for Lyttelton. The Markets. Consols, 99£ ; New Zealand securities are unchanged; Australian and New Zealand wheat remain at last quotation—viz., Adelaide, ex warehouse, 50s; New Zealand, ex ship, 445; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345; Australian beef tallow, 35s 6d; best mutton, 38s. The stock of tallow in London yesterday was 13,200 easks. LONDON, Feb. 2 (Evening). Imperial Parliament., In the House of Commons this afternoon Mr. Gladstone gave notice that he would propose that a majority of threefourths of the House, on a motion of "urgency," should suffice to give the Speaker supreme control over the Chainber, and give him immediate power to suppress disorder. Mr. Gladstone's proposal is made in view of the disgraceful scenes which occurred last night in the House during the debate on the Irish Coercion Bill.
