AVON ROAD BOARD.

The Board met on January 31st. Present— The chairman and all the members. Mr Jno. Rountree interviewed the Board and asked that a bridge might bo placed over the creek at Smith’s road. The Board informed him they could do nothing in the matter until the road was dedicated. Mr Hole saw the Board and asked that more shingle might be put on Hawken’s road; also that the Board would change the lino of road leading through his farm. The reports of the surveyor and foreman of works were read and considered. The chairman was requested to see tho chief surveyor relative to the road through Mr Hole’s ground, and the clerk was instructed to write to Mr Hole telling him to desist from taking out more shingle from the line of road. The clerk was instructed to write asking that the telegraph poles in Papanni may be placed at tho curbing. The surveyor was instructed to invite tenders for screening gravel at the Board's pit. A petition was received from inhabitants to the North of the Styx asking to have the road from Ohaney’s corner formed and metalled, being the north end of the canal reserve road, A letter was received from Mr Outbbert, enclosing testimonials. Resolved—“ That this meeting be adjourned till Monday, tho 7th.” Accounts to the amount of £lO7 4s 4i were passed and ordered to be paid.
