THE WELLINGTON MEETING.

[PEEBB ASSOCIATION TBLBOBAM.J WELLINGTON, January 31. Volunteer was scratched at 10.30 this mornfor all engagements at the forthcoming race meeting. Some good work was done by the horses on the racecourse this morning. Luna did a sweater twice round, finishing well. Dan wont two miles nicely, making friends by his resolute style of going. Lady Emma went by herself a fair gallop, and the two-year-olds, Legerdemain and Gitana, had a spin together. Rand wick, who looks strong and well,_ went once round in sweaters, end was then joined by Badswortb, the two went twice round, finishing at a good pace. Grey Momus had a striding gallop of two miles. He looks all the better for his rest. Astronomer, while taking a canter, came to grief. The bandage on his off fore leg came undone, and the horse treading on it, fell heavily, throwing Bay’s boy, who was on him. Fortunately neither boy nor horse was severely hurt. Clarence went two miles very nicely, as also did Miss Domett. Libeller, with Wattie up, did an excellent two miles. Natator was the last to show up, and was sent two and a half miles in clothing. He pulled up strong and well.
