The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Tuesday, January 2bth, were as follows i Spirits, £3lO 10s Id; tobacco, £B3 14s 9d; wine, .£36 33; beer, £ls 12s 6d ; tea, £lB Os 6d; goods by weight, £5 14s 6d ; ad valorem, £133 10s; other duties, £l3 2s 6d. Total, £646 6s lid. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, January 26. Fat cattle are in moderate supply. Prime beef, 22a 6d per lOOlbs; fat mutton, XJd per lb. Tho demand for young store sheep is very strong. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cablegram, dated London, 24th January :—“ Trade shows no improvement. Prospects not so good.”
