Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as nnder: — WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26.
For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Express, to connect with s.s. Albion at Bluff, at 7 a.m. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post Office van attached to the Express train. THURSDAY, JANUARY 27. For Akaroa and Otago, per Penguin, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, at 11.30 a.m.; guard's van, 12 noon train. For Northern Ports, per Te Anan, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m. ; guard's ran, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, JANUARY 29. For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c, per Hawea, us follow?; — Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; money orders at 3 p.m. ; guard's van. 8.30 p.m. train.
