VITAL STATISTICS.
[PBBSS ASSOCIATION TBLBOBAM.] WELLINGTON, January 20. The following arc the vital statistics of the principal towns for the month of December, 1880: —
'The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 436, against 453 in November, being on increase of 10. The deaths amounted to 149 in December, an increase of 22 on tho number for November. Of the above deaths, males contributed 84, females 65. 78 of tho deaths were those of children under five years of age, being 52.35 per cent, of the whole number; 61 of these were children under one year of age.
