Mails oloae at the Chief Post Offioe for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : THUBSDAT, JANUARY 18. For Otago, per s.s. Hawea, at 11.15 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.30 a.m. ; guard's van, 12 noon train. For Northern Ports, per s.s. Albion, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m. ; guard's van. 2.30 p.m. train. SATUBDAT, JANUARY 29. For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, &c, psr Hawea. Besidents in Sydenham are requested to get their letters addressed to the borough. There is a serious delay in delivering correspondence meant for Sydenham if addressed to Christchurch. Three new Post Offices have been opened from Jan. Ist, ltJBl : 1. Cracrott, at Sir Cracroft Wilson's station, Bangitata. Mails will close at Christchurch each Wednesday and Saturday at 7.30 a.m. 2. Newland, Ashburton. Mails will close at Christchurch each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7.30 a.m. 3. North Loburn, Ashley. Mails will close at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 6 a.m. BYPNEY J.
