Cleaning Feather Pillows. — Feather pillows can be cleaned and purified without removing the feathers, by taking the pillows, laying them in the bath tub, scrubbing them with a scrubbing-brush dipped in a solution of two table spoonfuls of ammonia to half a pail of warm water and rinse them thoroughly. Lay them out on the grass to dry, turning them frequently ; and at the last pin them to the line for a number of days, and when quite dry beat them with a rod. This is to disentangle and lighten the feathers. A Comfortable Bath.—A teaspoonful or more of powdered borax thrown into tho bath tub while bathing will communicate a velvety softness to the water, and, at the same time, invigorate and rest the bather. Persons troubled with nervousness or wakeful nights will find this kind of a bath a great benefit.
