Mails dote at the Chief Post Offlca for the following plaoes (subjoot to the nesesEary alteraliona) aa under : THURSDAY, JANUABY 6. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily, at 9.30 a.m. For Akaroa and Dunedin, perTaiaroa, at 9.30 a.m. ; late fee letters, at 9.40 a.m.; guard's van. 10.10 a.m. train. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per Botorua, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.30 p.m. train. Residents in Sydenham are requested to pet their letters addressed to the Borough. There is a serious delay in delivering correspondence meant for Sydenham if addraEßod to Christchurch. Three new post offices have been opened from Ist January, 1881. 1. Cracroft. at Sir Cracroft Wilson's station, Bangitata. Mails will clo-eat Christchurch each Wednesday and Saturday at 7.30 a.m. 2. Newland, Ashburton. Mails will close at Christchurch each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30 a.m. 3. North Loburn, Ashley. Mails will close at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6 a.m. SYDNEY J. DICE, Chief Postmaster.
