Second Day. The attendance on the seoond day was very small, and it was admitted on all sides that it was a mistake that all the events were not gone on with on the first day. The sports, however, so far as competition went, were very fair, and everything passed off satisfactorily. The following is the result:— Boys under 16 years Hurdle Baoe, 440yds First prize, £1; second, 10s. J. Macfarlane 1 J. Foreman 2 H. Lucas and N. Prion also ran. lousing the caber—First prize, £2 ; second, £l.
M. Stitt 1 H. Bayley 2 A. Maokay, W. Furniss, Hay Smith, and F. Broßnahan also competed. Music, Beels and Strathspeys—First prize, £4 ; seoond, £llos. M.Elder ... 1 J.Mackay 2 Boys' Bunning High Leap—First prize, 10a ; second, ss. J. Foreman 1 J. Leitoh 2 Maofarlane, Price, and Jones also competed. Sword Dance—First prize, £3 ; second, £llos. J. Murray 1 J. Moßae ... ". 2 H. F. Macduff also competed. Best Highland Costume—First prize, £3; seoond, £1 10a, J.Murray 1 H. P. Macduff 2 One Mile Handicap Race—First prize, £4; second, £llos. J. Groves, 10yds 1 J. Macfarlane, 200yds 2 T. Organ (scratch), A. Hugo, C. Spray, and J. Hunt (30yds), W. Bayliss and F. Mayo (40yds), also ran. A protest was entered against Macfarlane on the ground that he was under sixteen years, and the rules of the society did not allow him to compete. The protest was up ■ held. Hop, Step, and Leap Running—First prize, £1; second, 10s. J. Anderson, 33ft. 4in 1 J. Murphy, 38ft. lin 2 C. Jepheon, T. F. Murphy, N. Fairfield, and J. Reeves, also competed.
