Sarah Bernhardt, having procured the recall of the German Minister at Copenhagen, is now at loggerheads with the Customs authorities of the United States. Forty-seven dresses of hers, for which she claimed free entrance at Now York as part of her stook-in-trade as an actress, have been impounded at the Custom* as exceeding a reasonable privilege and liable to duty. She has protested.
