The actnal draught of the s.s. Durham when she left .the wharf on Monday for London was 22 feet 1 inch aft and 20 feet 2 inches forward. The Union Steamship Company’s s.s. Penguin arrived at 6 a.m. yesterday from Port Chalmers, and the s.s. Te Auau at 8 a m. from Northern ports. The former sailed for Wellington and ’North in-the evening and "the Te Anau for Melbourne via South. , The sohooner Torea was in the Auckland dock on Thursday last cleaning. It is probable she will compete in the race for vessels of her class in the next regatta. It is stated that she has had a false keel put en and her rig has been altered to that of a topsail schooner. The sohooner Fleetwing, belonging to Messrs J. and D. Oxley, of Auckland, will probably he also -here to compete. POET OF KAIAPOI. Aebived —December 14.
