[By Telhgkaph.J [Per b.b. Rotorua, at the Bluff.] LONDON, November 27. The sum of £4OO has been subscribed by the rowing public in England towards the £XCOO required for the proposed race on the Thames between Hanlan and Lajcock, to take place in six week's time. Hanlan has consented to wait until Tuesday for the balance of the money, and, if it subscribed, the race will be arranged. The ‘‘Sportsman” newspaper is receiving subscriptions, and contributions are expected from Australia. If Laycock wins, the money will bo returned to the donors. November 29. Earl Dufferin, British Ambassador at St. Petersburg, returns to Russia with instructions to arrange the Asian questions which have been the subject of negotiations between Russia and England. Boycott, the victim of the Land League agitation in Ireland, has quitted his residence near Lough Marsk, county Mayo, for England.
