GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

The rain which has fallen at intervals during the past week must have done immense good to the growing crops, and more particularly so on the light lands, where the appearance of the hlado was anything but healthy. The fall appears to have been pretty general over the east coast of this island, and came at a very opportune time. Business drags along quietly, and the number of transactions recorded have Been very few. Good sound milling wheat sells readily at 4s 3d, and lower grades from 4a downwards, according to quality. Millers report a fair business in flour at £H for town, and £lO 10s for country brands. Oats have commanded bat little notice, and are nominally worth la fid for milling and Is 3d for feed. There is, however, little doubt if freight was obtainable at a moderate figure for London a much better price would be attained, aa oats would be purchased and sent to vessels, thereby saving almost Id per hnshel in handling alone. Two or three small parcels of good barley have been placed at 3s 3d, and some medium and inferior at 2s fid to Is 9d. Batter is still quoted at fid, but we have not heard of any actual transactions. Cheese has seen some business at 3£d to 4d, but the enquiry appears to be exceedingly small. As is custonu.ry at this season of the year there is a good business doing in hams and bacon at BJd bare, and 9d in Goth.
