Catherine Leed. barquentine, 220 tona, Deed, for Cape Town. Boyse, Stead, and Co., agents. The barquentine Ocean Banger arrived yesterday afternoon from New York. The vessel has been amongst the list of those expected here for some months, the delay in her arrival having resulted from detention at Port Doni3, Mauritius at which port she had to put in to repair damage caused by stress of weather. She has on board about 400 tons of general American cargo, a moiety of which is for this port and the other for Auckland. Captain Priddle reports having left New York on April 28th. Moderate weather was met with to 80 8., where a succession of hard gales were encountered, which so strained the ship as to cause her to leak to a serious extent. It was then that Captain Riddle headed up for Port Louis, and the vessel arrived there on August 28th. The cargo was dieoharged and a complete overhaul given to the ahip, and she again set Bail on October 9th. Strong westerly winds were carried to the Saare3 in running the easting down in 49 S. The Nuggets were made on Sunday last, since which variable winds were experienced. Messrs Miles, Hassal, and Co. are her agents. The Prince Alfred was at Pelorns Sound loading for this port when the Onward left last Saturday night. The Esther and another brigantino and the ketch Clematis were going in as the Onward left. THE MAY QUEEN. The barque May Quean, in command of Capt. Colville, arrived this morning from London, with a full cargo of general merchandise, a portion of which is consigned to Invercargill. Twentyfive passengers all told arrived by her. The voyage up to the Cape was remarkable for the absence of anything in a weather Bense which could be termed breezy. Light airs and calms appear to have been met with through both the trade wind belts. From the Cape the ship did good work. There were no deaths nor serious sickness during the voyage. The May Queen is consigned to Messrs Edwards. Bennett and Co., and left London on Ansust 22nd.
