MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2. For Otatro, per Hawea, at 12.25 p.m.; late fee letters, at 12.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Porte, per To Anaa, at 1.50 p.m.; lata fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. FBIDAT, DECEMBEB 3. For Kaikoura and Northern Ports, per Jane Douglas, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &0.. per Taiaroa, as follows Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers at 6 p.m.; money orders at 2 p.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London, January 18th, 1881. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Arawata at Bluff), at 7 a.m. ; late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office van attached to the express train. Note.—On and after Saturday, 4th December, the Money Order and Savings Bank’s office will close each Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
