MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Poet Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Rotomahana at Bluff), at 7 a.m. ; late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office van attached to the express train. For Cape Town, per Catherine Lead, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters at 11.30 a.m.; guard's van, 12 noon train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee latters at "2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY. DECEMBER 2. For Otaeo, per Hawoa, at 12.25 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 12.35 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Te Anau, at 150 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3. For Northern Ports and Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard's van, 4.5 p.m. train. SATURDAY, DEC-EMBER 4. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c. per Taiaroa, as follows t—Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers at 6 p.m.; money orders at 2 p.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. guard's van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London, January 18th, 1881. Note.—On and after Saturday, 4th December, the Money Order and Savings Bank's office will close each Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
