MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 27. For Northern Forts, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. Guard's van must not be used for this mail. TUESDAY. NOVEMBER 30. For Otaeo and Australian Colonies, per Rotomahansi, 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee latters at 2.10 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Rotomahana at Bluff), at 7 a.m. ; late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post-office van attached to the express train. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c, per Wanaka, as follows: —Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers at 6 p.m.; money orders at 2 p.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. guard's van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London, January 18th, 1881. Note.—On and after Saturday, 4th December, the Money Order and Savings Bank's office will close each Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The office will open again at half-past six o'clock to receive Savings Bank deposits only, and will remain open till half-past eight o'clock. SYDNEY J. DICK, Ctiaf Postmaster
