NORTH CANTERBURY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

A meeting was held at McLean's Hotel. Amberley, on Wednesday evening, to consider the question of the annual gathering, which had been left open at the late general meeting. The president (Mr A. Macdonald) presided, and there were also present, Messrs R. McKay, Ross, Guthrie, McAdam, Cunningham, Kemp, J. Cameron, McNaught, Dick, D. McKay, H. McLean, Duff, Anderbod, Smyth, Brown, Burch, Walker, and K. McKay. The minutes of laßt meeting were confirmed, with the exception of the one fixing the day of the gathering. This, after several propositions, was, on the motion of Mr J. McKay, seconded by Mr Cunningham, altered to 17th March (St. Patrick's Day). It was proposed by Mr McNaught, seconded by Mr G. MoKay, and carried unanimously—- " That the sports be held at Amberley." It was decided to have a ball in the Town Hall, Amberley, on New Year's Eve, and a committee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements. Correspondence was read from Messrs Fulton, Barclay, and Myles Campbell, regretting being unable to attend, and giving their views on the date and locale of the annual sports. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
