The Mata FiascoThe Wagga Wagga Turf Clnh have endorsed the disqualification of Mata. Gold Robbery. A box with £SOOO in gold, consigned to the Bank of New Zealand, is missing from the steamship Tararua, which arrived yesterday. It was at first thought that it had been left at Dunedin, where the Tararua’s cargo was transhipped from the Hawea, hut it has been conclusively proved that the gold was duly shipped on board the Tararna. Nothing further, however, is yet known, and there are no signs of the bullion room having been tampered with. The detectives are confident of discovering the robber. MELBOURNE, November 16. The Missing BullionIt is suspected that the missing box of gold was landed at the Bluff or Hobart Town. It has transpired that the duplicate key of the Tararna’s bullion room has been lost.
