The following appointments appear in the Cl Q>c|26ttG » i Arthur Hutchison Bailey, President of the Institute of Actuaries, London, and Ralph Price Hardy, one of the vice-presidents of the said institute, to he actuaries for the purpose of making an independent valuation and reporting as to the surplus profits of the Government Insurance Department; also George Thorne, jun., os chief agent of the united districts of Otago and Canterbury in Government Insurance Department, with the title of superintendent of agents. John Nugent Wood to be a Resident Magistrate of the Resident Magisterial district of Christchurch, with extended jurisdiction to £IOO. _ „ ~ The resignation of Henry Houghton as acting chief agent for the Government Insurance department in the district of Otago has been accepted. The appointment of Kepa te Rangibiwinni (Major Kemp) of Putiki, Wanganui, as a Native Assessor, is revoked.
