OHBISTCHUBOH. Saturday, November 13. [Before B. Westenra and F. de o Malet, Esqs., J.P.’s.] Larceny.— John Bradley, alia s Brady, pleaded guilty to stealing books of the value o- 15s, the property of P. Burke. The police gave the accused a very bad character. Originally transported from Limerick, his career in the colonies had been a series of infractions of the law in various ways. He was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labor. Riotous Behavioue.—Pat O’Neil, charged with breaking a pane of glass and creating a disturbance in the Victoria Hotel, was fined 20s, and to pay damages 10s. Furious Biding.—Thomas McOallum was brought up charged with being drunk while in charge of a horse. At the racecourse on Friday he had galloped about in the most reckless manner, riding over a man named Thomas Goodfellow, a gatekeeper at the course, whose shoulder was dislocated in the encounter. The police said that probably evidence would be forthcoming to show that the collision was wilfully brought about by accused, and asked for a remand. Case remanded till the 17th inst. Bail was allowed, accused in £2O, and one surety in £lO. Cutting and Wounding. Margaret Platt, charged with using a knife to Mrs Wood, was also remanded till the 17th, the police not being able to say whether the wound inflicted would prove serious or otherwise. Bail in accused’s own recognisance of £25.
