COMMERCIAL.
The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Monday, November Bth, were as follows: —Spirits, .£275 4s Id; tobacco, .£B3 17a ; wine, £63 ss; beer, £9 7s 6d ; sugar, £ll3 6s 8d ; tea, £9 3s 4d ; goods by weight, £B3 7s 9d ; ad valorem. £B7 13s ; other duties, £47 12s sd. Total, £730 16a 9d. Business in the import market during the week has been almost wholly suspended on account of the Agricultural Show and race holidays. What little has passed through hands has been chiefly spirits and wines, and has been confined to small trade orders. The influx of country visitors has brought about a few enquiries for wire, woolpaoks, and turnip seeds, and next week will likely see the dispatching of a goodly number of orders coming under these and kindred heads.
GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
The greater portion of the week having \v>en . observed as a close holiday by grain meich cuts and millers, we have no business of any interest - to report.
