[Bt Tbleseaph.] [Per s.b. Arawata, at the Bluff.] A portion of the Late Cable News was given in our issue of yesterday. The folore additional items : LONDON, October 29, The Powers are deeply irritated at the dilatory shuffling policy pursued by Turkey in connection with the surrender of Duloigno. The Ambassadors at Constantinople have been instructed to address a sharp remonstrance to the Sultan, warning him that the patience of the Powers is exhausted, and that decisive action will be taken unless the matter be speedily arranged. The weather in Ireland haa been unusually severe during the past few days. A hurricane of tremendous force occurred yesterday in the province of Leinster, doing great damage at the Chapel Izodao, a email town on the Liffey, three miles west of Dublin. The bridge was destroyed by the force of the wind. The war at the Cape is exciting great interest. The colonial forces have exhibited the utmost intrepidity, and have been successful in beating off the rebels. The Basutos are concentrated in the vicinity of Mafeting. The latest intelligence states that the Cape Rifles and "Volunteers had followed up the retreating Basutos and had stormed and captured the stronghold of Lerothodi, their chief. It is believed that this victory will have the effect of preventing further disturbances in that part of the colony. The disaffection amongst the Basutos has extended to other tribes, and a rebellion has broken out in Qriqualand east. A feeling of uneasiness has prevailed there of late, as it was known that Lerothodi’s emissaries were busy _ at work endeavoring to incite the natives against the Europeans. The small town of Eoketad bad been strengthened, and all available forces collected there. It is expected that they will be able to hold their ground until reinforcements arrive. The Pondos, who have for some time exhibited an insurrectionary spirit, have joined in the rebellion, and are committing serious outrages upon natives friendly to the English, A telegram has been received at Cape Town to the effect that the rebels attacked the residence of the officials representing the Government, whom they overpowered and murdered. The volunteers of the district have been called out, and strenuous efforts are being made by the Cape authorities to dispatch troops to their assistance. October 30. The March decrees passed by the French Chamber are being vigorously enforced in all parts of France. At Marseilles the Jesuits refused to close their schools, and scenes of violence in some instances ensued. The authorities were assisted by large bodies of police, and the disturbances were soon quelled. The various educational establishments under the direction of the suppressed orders have been closed and quiet restored. The Right Hon. John Bright, a member of the Cabinet, has addressed a letter to the leaders of the Land League in Ireland in reference to the disturbed condition of that country. He warns them against giving encouragement to agrarian outrages and excesses on the part of Irish tenants, aa such are calculated to estrange their friends and sympathisers in Parliament, and prevent amendments in the existing land laws of Ireland, which many regard as of pressing necessity. November 1.

Dervish Pasha, who has been sent by the Porta to carry out arrangements for the surrender of Duloigno to Montenegro, has arrived there, and has superseded Biza Pasha in command. His instructions are to endeavor to effect peaceably the cession of the territory in question, but, if necessary, to employ coercive measures to overcome the resistance of the Albanians. There has been a collision between the Turkish troops and Albanians. Following out the instructions given by the Porte, Biza Pasha attempted to resume possession of Duloigno, but he was repulsed by the Albanians, and has been obliged to retire to Fraeshal. The French Government have organised a new mail service between France and Ne w Caledonia via Australia. The steamer will call at Melbourne and Sydney en route. November 2. Owing to the difficulty raised in Germany by the National party to the carrying out of his fiscal policy, Prince Bismarck has threatened to resign his position as Chancellor of the empire. The approaching match between Triokett and Hanlan is exciting much interest in aquatic circles. Triokett is training assiduously, and is in very good form. His weight when rowing at present is 12st 101 b. Banian's weight, list 101 b.
