ONE FOR CABBY.
The Paris cabdrivers are perhaps tho sulkiest race in the world, and we are pleased to bear that one of the brotherhood wae nicely taken down the other day. A gentleman called a voiture, and in reply to the customary “Where to?” said, “Avenue de ITmperatrice.” “There are no more Empresses,” said Mr Jehu, shrugging his shoulders. “ Yery well, then, the Avenue of the Bois de Boulogne, if you prefer it.” Arrived at his destination, the gentleman tendered a franc and a half, tho correct amount.
“ Well, and tho pour boire ?” “ There are no more pour brires, cabby.”
