Sentence of Death Commuted At a meeting of the Executive Council held at Government House to day at noon, the cose of the Auckland murderer, Joe the Fijian, was finally decided. It being proved that he had suffered from insanity on two previous occasions, and there appearing reason to believe that he was not acconntaMe for his actions in this instance, it was resolved that he should be reprieved and the capital sentence commuted to imprisonment for life.
