Caleb Lyon, of Lensdale, late Governor of Idaho, to Dr. Brandreth, dated June 10th, 1556 : My sincere thanks are due to yon for the boxes of Brandreth's Pilla that yon were so kind to send me previous to my departure for the Bast; and a more efficient medicine as a preventive of disease upon the miasmatic shores of the Danube, or the plague-stricken cities of Egypt and Asia Minor, I io not believe was ever used.
