The Customs duties collected at Christchurch oa Thursday, October 28th, were as follows s Spirits, ,£153 9a 3d; tobacco, £119; wine, £53 16s 3d; beer, £174 lie 3d; sugar, £9B 10s Id; tea, 6s 8d; goods by weight, £7O 18s Id ; ad valorem, £307 3s ; other duties, £6613a ; total, £1035 15a 6d.
At the usual sitting of the Waste Lauda Board, held at Christchurch on Thursday, October 28th, sales were made as follows Ordinary—Selwyn, la. Or. 34p. ; Akaroa. 38a. Under Public Reserves Sales Act, deferred payment—Village settlement, Horndon, sa. Total acreage sold, 44a. Or. 34p. Total cash received, £BO 18s sd. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. In oar yesterday’s issue we slightly misstated -the rate of duty per bushel on oats imported into Victoria. At Is per cental the rata per bushel is 4 4 sd, and at 2s per cental, 9 3-5 d ■jot bushel. The latter rate is now in force, as wo have been shown a private telegram, which conveys the unwelcome news that our surmise as to Mr Berry’s action was quite correct.
