Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to tho necessary alterations) as under SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. Guard’s van must not be need for this mail. Fop Kaikouva, per Tni, at 7.30 p.m The guard’s van must not be need for this mail. MONDAY. NOVEMBER 1. For Capo Town (for specially addressed correspondence only), per Sunbeam, at 11.15 am. ; late fee letters, at 11.30 a m. ; guard’s van, 12 noon train. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m. ; late foe letters, at 2.10 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.49 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Per gain, at 320 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3. For Otago and Australian co.oniea, per express (to connect with s.s. Tararua at B.uff), at 7 a m. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling post office van attached to the express train, SATURDAY. NOVEMBER 6. For tho United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &0.. per Taiaroa. as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m,; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train.
