CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, Ocxobeb 26.

[Before A. Lean and J. 0. Kimbell, Esqs., J.P’s] Making False Declabation.— John Clark Nathan, alias J. Walsh, was brought up, charged as above, with the intent to defraud the Poat-effice of £l4. On the application of the police, he was remanded till the 29th instant. Riotous Behaviour. —J. W. Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge of fighting in the Empire Hotel, and assaulting R. Richardson, the landlord thereof. Constable Gorman gave evidence of the violence and bad language used by accused, and as to his several previous convictions. He was sentenced to two months' imprisonment with hard labor. Using Obscene Language. —Jane Lewis, for this offence, was fined £l, and cab hire Is 6d.

Pbbjurt. —Michael Murphy and J. Watt were further remanded till to-morrow.
