The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Thursday, October 21st, were as follows s Spirits, .£l2l 3s 3d; tobacco, £ll 7s 6d; wine, £29 9s 4d; sugar, £39 17s 6d; tea, £37 18s 4d; goods by w ight, £25 12s lOd; ad valorem. £197 11s; other duties, £74 16s 7d; total, £558 16a 4d. LAND SALE. Yesterday Messrs B. Wilkin and Co. submitted several sections at Holmwood. There ■was a good attendance, and Mr F. C. Tabari, who acted as auctioneer, succeeded with his usual flow of eloquence in placing a number of sections at an average of £IOO per acre. At the usual sitting of tho Waste Lands Board, held at Christchurch oa Thursday, October 21st, sales were made as follows Ordinary: Ashley, 40a; Akaroa, 100 a; Waimate, 4a. Under Public Eeserves Sale Act, deferred payments, village settlement: South Bakaia. 2a Ir 25p. Total acreage sold, 146 alr 25p. Total cash received, £290 8s 2d. Refunds on account of former purchases were made in the amount of £44 11s 6d. THE SHAEE MARKET. Mb B. J. T.
