The Customs duties collected at Christchurch •c Tuesday, October 19th, were as follows Spirits, .£371 4s 7d; tobacco, .£llß I2s ; wine, £33 13s 6d ; sugar, £54 9s lOd; tea, £l2 Is 8d; goods by w igbt, £l3 16s; ad valorem, 9s ; total, £604 7s 7d. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunedin, October 20. The demand for fat cattle was languid and last week’s prices were scarcely supported, except for four pens of prime quality, which showed an advance of 2a 6d per lOOlbs. Prime beef, 23s 6d per lOOlbs ; superior, 25a. Fat sheep were in full supply, but the market was very dull. Prices were—ln wool 2}d ; shorn, lid. There ■were many inquiries for store cattle.
