LOCAL INDUSTRY.

Messrs Moor and Sens, Victoria street, have just completed, to the order of Mr F. J. Garrick, a very handsome carriage, which is worthy of notice as a specimen of colonial workmanship. The carriage is a landau, and built of English ash. The top forecarriage is made of iron, and displays first class workmanship, whilst the under carriage is wood and iron combined, the whole going to make a very light and strong vehicle. The painting is dark green ground, lined with willow green, and is finished very highly, showing the carriage off to great advantage. The hind part is hung on three quarter and cross springs with robins connecting. The axles are Oollicge’s patent, giving the under carriage a much lighter appearance than mail axles. The trimmings are of dark green cloth for head lining, and Russian leather of the same colour for squabs and cushions, with silk lace to match, which are finished in a very superior and creditable manner. The carriage is supplied with a pair of very handsome massive silver-mounted lamps, that add not a little to the general pleasing appearance, and it has one of McKenzie’s patent balance heads, by which arrangement the carriage can be opened or closed at will by a lady, if necessary, without any trouble. The doors are finished iu a style that is not general, being pleated, and having pockets in them. The door handles also are very handsome, being silver outside and ivory inside. The door looks are so arranged, that when the door is closed it looks itself. Altogether the workmanship and general finish is such as to be exceedingly creditable.
