The barque Island City, which arrived yesterJay from Newcastle, is consigned to Mr W. H. Hargreaves, for whom she has 633 tons of coal. The barque Pet, which arrived last night from Hobart Town, is also consigned to Mr Har■greaves. She has a full cargo of shingles, timber, and palings. The Union Company's s.s. Te Anau arrived yesterday at 9 a.m. from Dunedin. The Te Anau proceeded on her voyage North and to Sydney at 5 p.m. with a large number of pas•aangers. The tonnage loading on the berth at London, August 26th, for India, China, and the Cape of Good Hope, amounted to 46,275 tons, and for Australia and JSew Zealand to 53,974 tons. The New Zealand tonnage was distributed as follows :—For Lyttelton, 4337 tons; for Wellington, 3030 tons; for Auckland. 2944 tons; and for Otago, 2201 tons ; for Nelson, 465 tons. The " European Mail" of August 27th, has the following shipping news:— Arrived from Lyttelton. Alastor, off Scilly, Aug st 24th; Star of India, at Gravesend, Angust 16th; Coromandel, from Dunedin, August 18fch; Hopeful, from Oamaru, at Liverpool, August 20th; Oamaru, off Scilly, from Dunedin, August 25th. Sailed—For Lyttelton, August 25th, May Queen, Captain Colville, passed Portland, with 25 passengers. For Otago— Dunedin, from Glasgow, August 21th; Waitara, cleared from London, August 24th; Timaru, sailed August 15th; Ned White, from New York, August 9th For Wellington—Pleione, August 21st; Wairoa, Angust 18th. Loading for Lyttelton Durham, Bteamer; Otaki, Pleiades, Bangitikei, at London, and the West Biding at Glasgow. For Otago— Piako, Taranaki. For Nelson—Amazi. For Wellington— Hurunui, Euterpe, Antarea. For Auckland— Dunloe, Loch Fleet, Loch Urr, Margaret Galbraifch. The Opawa for Canterbury was spoken on August Bth, in 41 N., 9 W., then three days from Plymonth.
