A bad start was made, Adamant getting away with a good lead, but he was eoon overhauled by Emerald. Opposite the stand, the five horses were in a cluster, hut on coming into the straight Randwick went to the front, hard held ; Tera lay second, and Emerald third. These positions were maintained until opposite the stand, when Adamant went to the front and won a good race; Randwick was close up, and Tera was third. This was a very exoiting race. It was the opinion of many that had Randwick been ridden as he should have been he would have won the race.
