Moils close at tho Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alteralionS) as under THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14.
For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Express (to connect with s.s. Rotorua at Bluff) at 7 a.m. Late fee letters may be posted in tho travelling Post-office van attached to tho express train.
For Akaroa and Otago, per Hawea, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.30 a.m. ; guard’s van, 12 noon train.
For Northern ports and Australian colonies per Te Anau at 3.20 p.m.; late foe letters, 3.30 p.m. ; guard’s van, 4 5 p.m. train. For Fiji, to connect with the s.s. Southern Cross at Auckland per Te Anau at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters at 3,30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, CCTuBER 20. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point do Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c., per express train, to connect with's.s. Arawata, at Bluff, as follows: — Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 a.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19th, money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-Office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, October 20th. This mail will be due in London on December 9th. Note. —The Brindisi letter rate of postage for tho United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21. For Chatham Islands, per Botomahana, to oonneot with Omaha at Auckland.
The next mail for tho United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will close on November 6th. This mail will be duo in London on December 22nd,
