The enquiry into the loss of the Suianno Goddofroi concluded on the 6th, The Marine Board severely censured the captain of the Government tug Ajax for his contradictory evidence and for not proceeding to the assistance of the vessel; it also blamed Pilot Melville for his hesitation in proceeding with the life boat.
