MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) aa nninr:— SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Hawea, as follows: —Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p m. ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on November 23rd. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12. For Northern ports, per Wanaka, at 320 p m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. WKDNiSSDAY, OCTOBER 13. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua, at 1.50 p.m. late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, at 240 p.m. train. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Fiji, to connect with the s.a. Southern Cross at An .Aland, per Te Anau. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via Brindisi ('or specially addressed correspondence only) will close on October 20th. This mail will be due in London on December 9th. SYDNEY J. DICK.
