Hails close at the Chief Post Office for the following plaooß (subject to the necessary altera' tiona) as under : TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingsrooma, at 1.56 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, at 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Taiaroa, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard's van, 4 5 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9. For ths United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via Son Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c, per Hawoa, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be duo in London on November 23rd. tTHURSDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Fiji, to connect with the a.s. Southern Cross at Auckland, per To Anau. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) will close on October 20th. This mail will be due in London on December 9th. SYDNEY J.
