Hails close at the Chief Post Office for the following plaooß (subject to the necessary altera' tiona) as under : TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Bingsrooma, at 1.56 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, at 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Taiaroa, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard's van, 4 5 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9. For ths United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via Son Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c, per Hawoa, as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m.; money orders, at 4 p.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.30 p.m. train.
