Mails close at tho Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) os under: — SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2. Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7.30 p.m. Guard’s van must not bo need for this mail. MONDAY, OCTOBER 4 For Northern ports, per Go-Ahead, at 12 25 p.m. ; late fee letters, 12.35 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m train. For Kaikonra, per Tui, at 4.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.35 p.m.; guard’s ran, 5.25 p.m. train. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Ringarooma. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Fiji, to connect wiih the s.s. Southern Cross at Auckland, per Te Anan. The mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will close on October the 9th next. This mail will be due in London on November 23rd. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, &c., via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) will close on October 20th.
