Mr Montgomery moved—“ That this Board agree to pay the sum of £l9l 5a rendered necessary by tho action of the Government, and £9O as the proportion to be paid by this Board to the salary to Mr March.” Tho Mayor of Christchurch seconded tho motion, which was put and carried after a short dircuasion. It was further resolved that the allowance of 3s per diem now paid by tho Board should cease, and that for the future all actual travelling expenses incurred by Mr March on behalf of the Board be refunded to him.
