DURHAM STREET WESLEYAN CHURCH.

The quarterly meeting in connection with the Wesleyan Church, Durham street, was hold on Monday evening in the schoolroom, the Rev. A. Reid in the chair. The attendance was good, every part of the circuit, which includes the East town belt, Woolston, and Heathcota Valley, being represented. The return of church members showed a small increase. The circuit stewards, Messrs W. Harris and E. O. Mouldey, presented their financial statement, which showed, in eluding a credit balance of £43 4* 21 from previous quarter, a total income of £413 2j 7d, and a total expenditure (including £7O granted to the trust funds, £2l 4s to commercial funds, £27 10a to foreign mission fund, £l2 10a to poor’s fund, and £39 4s 9i to Sunday school) of £327,43 2d, leaving a credit balance of £BS 18a sd. Of this amount a sum of £BO was voted to the Home mission fund. The Reva. A. Reid and W. Baumbor accepted the unanimous invitation of the meeting to remain in the circuit a third year, subject to the approval of the conference. The meeting recommended that the decision arrived at by the trustees to call for tenders to lease Church laud on the South town belt bo adhered to. Permission was also given to the trustees of the East belt church to make a canvass of the whole circuit for subscriptions towards the erection of a new_ church. Recommendations concerning the itinerancy of ministers and the constitution of the quarterly meeting were made to the coming con- | fercnce. After an interesting and earnest conversation on general church work, the j chairman closed the meeting by pronouncing the benediction.
