AMBERLEY WESLEYAN CHURCH.

A public meeting of the Presbyterians was laid in the schoolroom on Monday evening last. The Rev. Charles Fraser presided,) and opened the meeting by prayer, and thereafter explained the circumstances under which he had been appointed to tho charge of |the district. The balance-sheet for the last twelve months was read by tho treasurer, Mr .Wilson, as duly audited, and was approved by the meeting. It showed a balance on hand of a little over £5. Mr Wileoa stated his intention to resign his position as treasurer and secretary. A unanimous and hearty vote of thanks was passed to him for his energetio and faithful services to the church. A committee was then appointed for the ensuing twelve months, with Mr Gilchrist as secretary, and Mr MoNaught as treasurer. All the members of the former committee, as well as the trustees, were returned on the new committee. It was next agreed to request the moderator, Mr Fraser, to provide supply for some time in connection with Waikari, at least once a month. The ordinary meetings of committee were fixed for the first Wednesday of every month. A subscription list was then opened and signed by everyone present for the regular maintenance of Divine ordinances. The meeting was closed wi'h the Benediction.
