MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) aa under:— TUESDAY, SEPT. 28. Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 3.20 p.m. late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4.5 p.m. train. For Kaikonra, per Tui, at 4.20 p m.; late fee letters, at 4.35 p.m. ; guard’s van, 4.25 p.m train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Eotomahana, at 4 20 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 4.30 p.m..; guard’s van, 5.25 p.m. train. The mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via San Francisco, will [close on the 9th October next. This mail will be due in London on November 23rd. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &0., via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) will close on the 20th October. This mail will be due in London on December 9th. SYDNEY J.
