LONDON, September 24. The MarketsThe total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,300,000 quarters. Best Australian beef tallow is at 33s 6d; best mutton ditto, 355; best Australian leather at At the wool sale today 8500 bales were offered. There was again a firm and active demand. The Australian ElevenThe cricket match between the Australians v Eleven of Nottingham, was resumed and concluded to-day. Tho home team continued their first innings, which closed for 88. The Australians then wont in for their second innings, hut only succeeded in putting together 77 runs. The Nottingham team then requiring 131 runs to win the match went in for their second innings, and succeeded in scoring the required number with the loss of nine wickets, thus winning the match by one wicket. There was great excitement over the finish of the game. In the first innings of Notts Beyle and Palmer for the Australians bowled splendidly, each taking five wickets. LONDON, September 25. ' Wool Sales. The wool sales closed to-day. The total quantity sold during the series was 260,000 hales; 3000 are held over for next sales. Merinos and crossbreds have closed at about the same price as at last auctions, and with firm and active demand. Severe Earthquake. News has been received from Chili that a very severe earthquake has occurred in that country. Two hundred perished, and great damage has been done to property, Australians v English Professionals. The Porte has positively refused to agree to the cession of Dulcigno unless the naval coercion is abandoned. Tho Albanians threaten the arrest of tho various foreign consuls, and tho English consular staff have therefore left Scutari.
