Contempt of CourtThe Sydney “ Evening News” has been fined £250 for contempt of Court. The Chief Justice delivered judgment. Notice of appeal was given against the decision, but he refused to grant it, and said that the proprietor must petition the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. BRISBANE, September 24. A Useful ResolutionIn the Legislative Assembly last night, a resolution was passed prohibiting members, but not Ministers nor officers of Parliament, from receiving payment for services rendered to the Government.
