OHBIBTOHUBOH. Monday, Septbmbbb 20. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., B.M.] Dbunkbnness. —Eor first offences, throe men and one woman were fined ss. Henry MoKearay, for being drunk, using obscene language and smashing the splash board of a cab which conveyed him to the look-up, was fined 20s, damages to cab 10s, and witness ss; Thomas Sheehan was fined 10s ; Ellen Jordan was fined 10s; James McGregor, a frequent offender, who said he had not been drank but had had an epileptic fit, but his story was not believed; fined 10s. W. Hutton, who had been remanded from the 18th to allow of his becoming properly sober, was fined 10a. Bbbacheb of City By-paws. —For allowing horses to be at large Jas. Chambers, Sami. A. Court, and Bobert McPherson, were fined Ss and costs. E. J. Martin, was charged with neglecting to burn a light at night on the hoard - ingoutsidethe artesian well now beingdrivenin Victoria street for the City Council. Defendant called Mr Walkden, City Surveyor, who proved that the hoarding was not on a street, and the case was dismissed. Herbert Ed. Williams, for allowing his horse on a footpath, was fined ss. W. H. Byers, for leaving a horse and cart unattended, was fined 10s. Eiotous Conduct. —Henry Smith, for provoking a breach of the peace, was fined 10s. Twentyman Hodgson and Boland Hill, for fighting at Papanui, were fined 10a each. Ann Jane Lutton was charged with annoymg Eliza Teape in a manner calculated to provoke a breach of the peace on the 6th. Accused proved she was in Court on that day, and the information was dismissed. The girl at the same time was cautioned as to her future behaviour. Percival Pearce pleaded “Guilty” to having insulted Mr Marks in public, and was bound over in his own recognizance cf £2O to keep the peace for six months, in default one month’s imprisonment. Faiding to Pbovidb. —Joseph Cummings was ordered to pay 15s per week towards the maintenance of his wife and three children, who are in Auckland.
