MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, SEPT. 18. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. Guard’s van must not be used for this mail. For Kaikoura, per Tui, at 7.30 p.m. Guard’s van must not he used for this mail. MONDAY, S KPT. 20. For Northern Ports, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Kotorua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.10 p.m. train. THURSDAY, SEPT. 23. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only) Continent of Europe, Point do Galle, India, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Capa of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c., per express, to connect with s.s. Te Anau, at Bluff, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers, at C a.m.; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. September 22ncl, money orders, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22nd. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-Office van attached to the express train on Thursday, September 23rd. This mail will be due in London on November 11th. Notice. —The Brindisi letter rate of postage for the United Kingdom is 8d per half-ounce.
