At a committee meeting of the above association held yesterday, the 15th instant, in Ihe Somerset Hotel, Mr Carter in the chair, the secretary announced that the horse parade would be held on the 2nd day of October next, instead of the 28th inst., as formerly decided upon. It was agreed to appoint the following judges for the forthcoming show:—For merino sheep—Messrs Stitt, Pierson, N. McLean and J. Chalmers. Long wool sheep—Messrs H. J. Hale, Turnbull, D. Oliver and J. MoFarlano. Cattle— Messrs Threlkeld, Kelland, Mororoft and Tabart. Blood and light horses— Messrs Mollwraith, Wilken, Hirst and Lockhart. Cart horses—Messrs Campbell, Thomas, Bde and Boag. Pigs—Messrs Green, Deering, Hartnell and Hunt. Implements—Messrs Passmore, Johnston, Grigg, Wright and Blyth. Poultry—Messrs Reid, Wood and Walker. Dogs—Messrs Jeffs, H. T. Smith and Manson. Agricultural produce—Messrs Robinson, Miller and Moffatt. Dairy produce —Messrs Orr, Grigg and Williamson. New Zealand manufactures— Messrs Jameson, Coster, Grigg and Cox. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Passmore, to ask the Manager of Railways to have the railway cattle yards removed to opposite the show ground, as the borough by-laws prevent stock being driven through the town except during the hours between midnight and 4 a.m., and rendering it necessary to remove stock by rail at night, which of course is impossible. After some minor business was transacted the meeting adjourned.
