NATIVE AFFAIRS.

fPEOM OVS OWN COHBEOPONDBNT. 1 ■WELLINGTON, September 15. Mr Bryce telegraphs that the usual farce of fencing was gone through this morning, but no attempt made to perform the usual defiant stand. The Natives decamped at the first sign of the constabulary’s interference, and silently stole away. Sir F. D. Bell has returned from Hawera. It is understood to be probable that the West Coast Royal Commissioners, Sir W. Fox and Sir F. D. Bell, will undertake to continue their mission with a view of carrying out the recommendations contained in their report regarding the settlement of the West Coast difficulty. It is rumoured that this will involve a personal conference with Te Whiti at Parihaka, but this last is mere hearsay.
